5000 odd mob enjoyers — los angeles

Odd Mob is the project of Harry Hope, a DJ and producer from Brisbane, Australia: house music with a habit of going sideways. Sixteen years of it, receipts below — his own posts, his own words.

01 2010–2014

School formal MC

Harry Hope grew up in Redland Bay on Brisbane's bayside and started DJing at 16, cutting his teeth as MC of a local talent quest. At 19, while studying engineering at the University of Queensland, he won a Faster Louder competition with a 14-minute mix that jumped across three genres. The prize was a guest slot on the Red Bull stage at Big Day Out; the local paper ran the headline "DJ Harry is master of best party gigs". The degree, he said at the time, was the back-up plan. It stayed that way.

Odd Mob started in 2013 as a duo: bedroom videos, two mates, a laptop and a lot of confidence.

02 2015–2018

Is It A Banger?

The early viral hit Is It A Banger? cracked triple j's Hottest 100 and the club runs began — arcade nights on the road with the coming generation of Australian house, Dom Dolla and Torren Foot among them. Odd Mob has run as Hope's solo outfit since 2017.

By the end of 2018 Spinnin' Records had signed All Of Your Heart, and Red Bull — the brand whose stage gave him his first break — finally answered his joke sponsorship request. With four slabs.

03 2019–2021

Album mode

The first North American tour ran Space Yacht LA to Schimanski New York. Then the world shut down, and the studio became the whole job: album sessions, the Pump It Up evil edit, a Wii-theme remix for a Space Yacht dare — the edits that built the sound the next era runs on.

And one post that isn't about music at all: a sunset headland, a knee in the grass, and — a couple of years later — marrying his best friend.

04 2022–2023

Left to Right

LEFT TO RIGHT, the Insomniac single, went everywhere — and took him with it. Skrillex, Fred again.., Dom Dolla, Disclosure and Chris Lake all played it out; "Yo skrill dropped me hard" is still his most-liked post ever. The Unexplained with OMNOM and the Experts Only single Losing Control with John Summit followed.

2023 ended b2b with Summit at a sold-out BMO Stadium in Los Angeles — 17,000 people, sixteen thousand more than the talent quest.

05 2024–2026

Only took 16 years

The Club Rompas EP, a Tiësto collaboration, deli-counter club nights with House Calls, and festival CVs that now read EDC, Coachella, Hard Summer, Shambhala. Then, in July 2026, the Tomorrowland main stage. "Only took 16 years," as he put it.

When the tour bus stops, it doesn't stop for long: new dates land on the tour page as they're announced.
